About the Tool

DeskWink is a remote connector that lets the web AI apps you already use — ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini — work with folders on your own computer. It is currently in closed beta and free during the beta. Instead of copying files into a chat window, you share specific folders with DeskWink, and your AI app can browse, read and search those files directly, then propose edits for your approval. Every proposed change is shown as a preview first, so nothing is modified without your explicit approval. Only the folders you share are visible to the AI; everything else on your computer stays private. Sensitive files and folders such as .env and .ssh are blocked by default, so credentials and keys cannot be exposed by accident. File contents pass through on their way to your AI and are never written to DeskWink's database or logs. DeskWink is built for developers and knowledge workers who want AI help with real project files — reading documentation, searching across a codebase or drafting edits — without uploading proprietary code to third-party servers.
